Brian Belcher, Ph.D., P.E.
Vice President
Brian is a professional engineer, researcher and educator. He has extensive laboratory and field training in hydrology, hydraulics, geomorphology and sediment transport analysis. Brian has extensive career training and applications in advanced hydraulic modeling. He has served as Lead Designer on over 200 miles of stream restoration projects with government, private and non-profit clients. Brian is an instructor of hydrologic and hydraulic modeling courses using H&H software including HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, HEC-GeoRAS, RIVER2D, BANKFULL© and RIVERMorph and has presented short courses for FHWA, ASCE, KSPE, ODNR, KYDFW, University of Kentucky and others. He is also an instructor for The Kentucky FILO Stream Restoration Construction Course. Brian is the inventor of the natural channel design model and software BANKFULL©. The software allows the user to perform efficient design patterns for large-scale projects involving many different valley and stream conditions and is used in-the-field to allow for on-site construction constraints such as rock outcroppings, bat habitats, historical features, etc. Brian’s publications include international journals such as the Journal of Hydraulic Research and the Journal of Engineering Mechanics.
