The design-build project included a reference reach analysis, a complete hydraulic design and model using HEC-RAS, multiple agency permitting with full design submittals, and the eventual construction of the in-stream features. Numerous in-stream grade control features were constructed including J–hooks, Cross-Vanes, and Boulder Clusters to reduce streambank scour, braided, shallow watercourses, and improve fish habitat. Eroded banks were also improved along Clear Creek and limited foot traffic to designated high-impact areas for access to the river. The project was constructed in two phases due to restrictions on stream access due to Brown trout spawning.
